Perplexity
Perplexity
Research with the sources attached.
Where it has an edge
- Questions where the answer needs a source
- Comparing tools, prices or approaches
- Checking whether a claim is still true
- Finding the original paper or announcement
How I prompt it
I ask a question the way I would ask a colleague, then read the sources before I read the answer. If the sources are weak I say so and ask again with a narrower question. It is better at finding things than at judging them, so the judgment stays with me.
Images
No. It searches and cites. It does not generate images.
Where it slips
It can lean on pages that repeat each other, which makes a thin answer look well sourced. Two pages quoting the same press release are one source.
